Closing the Sale – ABC

My background is in sales and I suppose it is something that has always come that little bit easier to me because of my personality. I am struck by how many people find it difficult but I suppose it’s because who don’t realise how integral sales is to their lives already. You are always selling in some form because true sales is about relationship building. If you have friends that you know how to sell, if you have kids believe me you know how to sell. Period!

I run a workshop called the Closing Course because I’ve found that whilst many of my clients are great at creating rapport and interest in what they do. They fall at the hurdle when it comes to closing the sale. You know because you’ve done it too… you get to the end of the conversation that you have been having with a potential client and then you say;

 “Why don’t we have a chat next week and see what we can do”

“It was really great meeting you and talking about what we do let’s keep the conversation going”

 “Thank you for the opportunity to meet with you today, I am sure that we could work together in the future so I’ll speak to you soon”

Arrrrrgggggghhhhh you didn’t ask for the sale! You waited to the very end to ask and then you copped out! NO! This is not how you do this.

The key is to Always Be Closing!!!

 

Throughout your conversation use lots of mini closes like “So is that something that you were looking for?” or “Are you happy with that?” When you close all the way through your pitch you don’t have to do a massive close at the end. It becomes much more natural because you can then summarise what you have discussed and then say “Based on everything that we have discussed today are you happy to go ahead”
