It's Not How You Start It's How You Finish
So, 2018 has trundled in and my plans to kicks its ass from day one have been thwarted at every turn. Whilst I had a great New Year’s Eve I’ve been ill since 30th December. This new strain of flu has become attached to me and doesn’t seem to be willing to leave anytime soon.
I have been scuppered! I thought that I would hit 2018 with vigour and a unstoppableness that would have had Wonder Woman shaking in her boots. I was wrong.
I’ve spoken to a few people whose New Year has not quite been as new as it promised. Yet the optimism for this New Year is riding high. Wherever you look it seems that the forecasts are for abundance, prosperity and a year of greatness – tell that to the lurgy!
If you’re New Year has not started off with a whizz, bang and a whollap do not be dismayed. It’s not how you start it’s how you finish.
For me, this illness has provided some thinking time that I may have completely bypassed if not for being lambasted by the flu. I’ve been able to really consider what I want from this year. Engage in a really great 30-day programme that helps with clarity and get some, obviously, needed rest. Further, it’s highlighted to me the importance of my health goals this year and how I need to care for myself so that I can live my best life.
Some of us are dealing with residue from 2017; ending relationships that don’t benefit us, seeing things that we didn’t see before, re-engaging with people in a new way, maybe even re-engaging with ourselves in a new way. All because this year didn’t quite start the way that we wanted it to.
I’ve lived enough years on this earth to learn that nothing is wasted and certainly nothing happens before its time. So, take the learning that you are gaining at this time and apply it and make 2018 your best year yet.
We are at the very beginning, whatever you feel has thwarted you review it and see what lessons it has provided. Focus on your end game and how you will make that a reality. What baby steps can you take name so that you end this year more successful than the last?
Remember – It’s not how you start it’s how you finish.
